Shiretoko Sightseeing Ship Aurora offers a laidback voyage and sense of security unique to a large ship. Passengers can take photographs on the observation deck and side deck while the ship is sailing. And when wild animals appear, the onboard monitor captures the creature on film in real time. Seats are available on board and you can take a seat as you take in the scenery and film. You’ll definitely want to take in the Natural World Heritage Site Shiretoko from aboard the Aurora.

Abashiri Ice Floe Sightseeing Icebreaker Aurora lets you view up close the ice floes that cover the Sea of Okhotsk in white. The shaking and sounds as it breaks through the ice floes is something that can be experienced only on the Aurora.
You are free to move about the boat while it is operating. See the ice flows up close on the side and rear deck on the first floor, and watch the white-covered sea set against the Shiretoko Mountains from the side, rear, and observation deck on the second floor. There are seats aboard the ship as well. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the ice floes aboard the Aurora.

Utoro’s summer sightseeing ships let you enjoy the wilderness of Shiretoko from a variety of angles, whether inside the ship, outside the ship, or standing. While aboard, catch a glimpse of wild brown bears and deer as well as wild birds such as the spectacled guillemot, Japanese cormorant, and white-tailed sea eagle. Ice Floe Walk is a hands-on sightseeing program that uses our natural environment.
We’ve been hosting ice floe walks since we started in 1998.
All of our guides, including the president, are locals engaged in fishing or diving work.
No special preparations are required, as you wear a special dry suit over your regular clothes.
The activity takes 90 minutes, including transportation time.
There are shuttle buses that run between here and the hotel, so feel free to join.

Aqualand Sointse is an indoor facility that lets you play as you please without worrying about the weather. Meaning “sun” in Russian, there is a picture of an enormous sun on the wall as well as images of the blue sea and the Clionidae living in Shiretoko. The pool is up to a meter deep. With slides, gyms, and other equipment, enjoy an unforgettable moment of excitement.

Oshinkoshin Falls
This is the largest waterfall in Shiretoko, chosen as one of the top waterfalls in Japan. Sometimes called the “Twin Beauties Falls” because the stream divides in two midway.
Oronko Rock
An enormous rock 60 meters tall near the port of Utoro. Take the stairs to the top, where you can take in a spectacular view.
Yuhidai
As its name suggests, this is a famous place to watch the sunset. With stunning views of the Sea of Okhotsk and Utoro Port, this place lets you enjoy beautiful sunsets in every season.
Cape Puyuni
This place is famous for its sceneries and sunsets. In winter, this is also the point where you can see the very first ice floes of the Sea of Okhotsk.
Furepe Waterfall
The water seeping from the cracks in the cliff looks like tear drops trickling down the slope, which is why this place is also called “The Maiden’s Tears”.
Kamuiwakka Falls
This is an unusual waterfall where hot springs flow into the river, turning the river flow into that of a hot spring. Enjoy natural hot springs created by Mother Nature herself.
